Sports cars

In the field of sports cars, GAIA has set a number of milestones. In 2008, the company teamed up with the former formula one racer Heinz-Harald Frentzen to build the most powerful hybrid race car. The car competed in the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring, demonstrating to the world that hybrid race cars are a viable option.

"Followers of motor sports must not ignore the need to save energy. I see a real opportunity for our sport to resume its role as a pioneer of new technology, which will make cars on and off the race track more energy-efficient," explains Heinz-Harald Frentzen, whose company, Hybrid Racing, owns the marketing rights of GAIA products for race cars. High Power batteries from GAIA are also used to power other sports cars such as the RUF Greenstar, and more projects are currently in the pipeline.
